fyi,

The local Home Depot is selling the Porter-Cable 7549 for $109.
That made it the same price as a Dewalt. After comparing the
two, I went with the PC. Looks like the PC is built to last
a lifetime. We'll see...

Barry.....you say that the "pc is built to last a lifetime....We'll see"

Just a couple of quick questions.
1) how old are you? Are we going to be waiting a long time?

2) Have you made arrangements for a report to be given to the group on
the condition of the saw after you leave this world for the ultimate
workshop in the sky?

Sorry....I couldn't resist.....:-)

I have the same saw....and it does seem to work well

Hi
I've been watching the features and price for the PC-9543 with
Quick-Change Bayonet. (Street $168) for some time. The 7549 looks great
but the one thing you give up is the capability to cut at left and right
tilts. Is the $49 savings worth it or will I regret not having the
Tilt?.

That is for you to decide, not for someone to decide for you. However,
in all the years I have owned and used one, I cannot ever remember using
the tilt feature.

You should ALWAYS try to have a Plan B.
And even more important, have a Plan A

Me, neither. But, to be sure, my jigsaw doesn't tilt, and that may be why I
haven't used it! I'd use another tool for a bevel cut, almost every time,
anyway!

I'm 30. The saw was actually kind of a birthday present. I was
hoping to pass it on to my grandkids.

I can add a clause to my will if you like. :-)

And how long has this saw been cutting for you?
