Grizzly Oscillating Spindle Sander (Model G1071)
Star Tools Oscillating Spindle Sander
They both appear to come from the same Taiwanese factory and the price is
about the same; around $495. I've heard good things about the Star Tools
version (formerly Enlon), but they're difficult to reach and their web site
is a mess. Grizzly is much easier to reach, but I've heard a lot of negative
things about their quality control.
Thanks,
Jonathan

I'd take what the guy at star said with a grain of salt.. I also called Star
about the sander and they told me the same thing, and were quite rude at doing
so. They also wanted $70.00 more to ship than Grizzly I would venture to guess
these 2 sanders are identical. I don't think it's economical to have 2
production lines making the same thing, one a lower quality than the other..
When I called Grizzly and asked about the 2 sanders, they didn't bad mouth Star
in any way.....
>anyhow. I noticed Jet has one now for $899 at Tool Crib and the Star and
>Grizzly are about $495 I bought the Star because it iis local
I bought the Grizzly myself and am very happy with is.... It is built like a
battle ship....
>could go look at it in person and pick it up w/o paying shipping. Either
>way it is an awesome sander and I'm glad i discovered it before buying a
>Powermatic. If the units aren't identical then the Star may be better,
>they both weigh 385 pounds or something. Good Luck!
