Not that difficult. For almost all wood finishes except heavy paints (and for
the pro guns, even that) HVLP is the machine of choice. Airless guns are
useful for laying on latex, as in house and room painting. I'm not really sure
what you mean by car stuff--that's either HVLP or conventional high pressure,
low volume. Don't know enough about it there to know what's best, but it does
seem most vehicle paints are light-bodied enough to work well with HVLP. And
the high pressure guns are fine for most woodworking, too, but waste a lot more
paint, and, at least to me, are harder to control than HVLP.
