Any one out there know when Delta stopped using the Delta-Milwaukee
brand name on tools? I have seen an ad for a 14-inch bandsaw and I am
trying to judge its age ... I have sent a message to the Delta people,
but no response as of yet. thanks.

I'd be interested in finding this out to. The motor on my drill press
has a Delta/Milwaukee logo plate and the Rockwell Manufacturing Co.
Same thing on my scroll saw. It can't be older than 1945.

In 1945 Rockwell Manufacturing Company, under the direction of Colonel
Rockwell, purchased the Delta Manufacturing Company. Also, in 1945
Rockwell purchased the Crescent Machine Company of Leetonia, Ohio, who
manufactured heavy duty woodworking machines. Rockwell sold this
company to the Enterprise Division of Wm. K. Stamets Company of
Columbiana, Ohio, but kept the 8" Jointer, 12"-14" Tilting Arbor Saw,
and 20" Wood Cutting Band Saw.

Early 1960s as far as I know, but there were machines in distribution
channels for years with those labels on them. I used to sell Rockwell
machinery, and it wasn't unusual for us to get a machine that had been
manufactured 2 to 3 years previously.
