I am not happy with the $750+ saws from Ridgid, Delta, or Craftsmen.
They seem flimsy to me, and I need repeatable accurate cuts.
I hate the rear-mounted height crank of the 10 inch Delta model - it's
just too hard to reach and adjust.
Why does 10 inch Delta have a much bigger (wooden) table and why does
it cross cut 2 inches more than the more expensive 12 inch model
33-890?
Any experiences with the Delta 12 inch model and any answers to my
questions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I have an older Delta/Rockwell 12" RAS (with the rear height adjustment I
might add) and love it. I see them going for about $750 - $1000. If you
want to buy new, that's your deal. But if you want a damn good machine for
alot less money, try to find an older one in good condition. If you're like
me, you aint gonna use it that much but when you need it, it's there.

Have you had a chance to put your hands on Deltas current 10" turret
arm RAS. There is a new one in the tool section of my local home
improvement store. I am not impressed with it. I grew up using dads
10" turret arm Delta and the current model didn't measure up in my
opinion (much more plastic and sheet metal).
I noticed from Delta's web site that they list the cross cut capacity
of the 12" at 14 3/8"
http://www.deltawoodworking.com/catalog/default.asp?cat_id=9
This seems awfully short travel (I hope it is a typo for 24 3/8").
The 14" and above models are listed at 29" crosscut capicity.
Interesting?
I also noticed a 14" Delta single/three phase saw on ebay for a very
reasonable price.
Great saws, I think you will be very happy with any of them!

Something wrong there. I have a 9 inch Dewalt (vintage 1950) that
will crosscut 14". Gotta be a misprint.
