However, it's quality seems fine to me. I've put it together and mounted it
on the press to check its fit, and it looks pretty much the same as the
Delta mortising attachment to me. Could be made at the same plants.
If you're going to be mortising hardwood, I'd think about spending the money
on a dedicated mortiser if you want to go that way. However, I find that
when I don't want to chop mortises by hand (like when I've got a bunch of
them to do and less time) then drilling with a nice brad point and then
paring with a sharp chisel is both not only fairly quick, but leaves a much
cleaner mortise than even a dedicated mortiser can accomplish, and drill
press mortisers leave even rougher mortises, in my experience.
