I am about to purcahse a floor drill-press and see the
reliant prices are much lower than delta. Are they OK.
Also, for general drilling/sanding operations, what is
the minimum size DP i should consider?
thanks for the help:
: thanks for the help:
I have a Reliant floor model drill press and have been very happy with
it. I have not experienced any problems thus far. When looking around
for a drill press, I found the Reliant to be sturdier than the Delta (which,
by the way, is not the way I normally feel with that comparison on other
tools). However, the drill press is one of the harder to screw up tools,
and it seems that Reliant has done a nice job. I cannot speak for the
mail order business of Trendlines, but I have had very good luck with the
Woodworkers Warehouse stores (I guess that only applies if you are in the
Northeast). Also, I feel it is worth the extra money to go for a floor
model, as the tabletop models limit the things that you can do. BTW,
that is another reason that the Reliant model is nice, it is far less
expensive than the Delta, etc...
