questions.

I compiled a list of former legends just wondering what the hell they

information on what the legends are up to, please fill us in. Anyone

Hey Weed,
I often wonder about Ian Booyd's whereabouts. I got this very cool
promo poster from Ford Motor Company that shows Ian and another sailor
jumping off a wave face that is superimposed in the beds of two
pick-up trucks. It is in one of the rooms where I work and it gets a
lot of comments from my non-windsurfing coworkers. Unfortunately I do
not any windsurfing coworkers. Anyway, that's my comments off on not
quite a tangent. Thanks for the though provoking post.

I got to spend a no wind day with Ian and Trip Foreman when they were
up here on Cape Cod doing business for North back in 90's. Ian's a cool
guy, showed him a few different sites, actually talked a lot of non
windsurfing stuff. Turns out, Ian's Mom lives back here in Springfield,
MA., I remember him saying he was going back to school getting his
degree. I thought he was living in the SF area.

Jutta Muller was/is? a skating coach; Katarina Witt was/is? one of her
pupils.

Kelby Anno travels, singing and preaching the gospel. She was just in
Nashville and is now in Australia.

I think Ian Boyd got an MBA.

In the Dodge commercial currently running in the southeast U.S., the
sail sure looks like it says Maui Meyer on it, but it goes by quickly
and I'm not sure.

I think Debbie Brown is living the Maui life, taking it easy, making
pottery, still wave sailing Kuau. I believe she was surfing with my
friend when he got nailed by that shark last year.

OK, here's a few off the top of my head,

Bruce Peterson is still running a very profitable sailworks. Bart Vervolet
still does the "Best Bet" and still works
retail WS (now at the Gorge Surf Shop), Victor the Inflictor just won a
Masters Ski Slalom event in Europe.

I fought the urge to say that. But hey, there are a lot more younger
women than there used to be. :)

Pete Wagner?

I saw him windsurfing at The Gorge last summer, I think. He's good friends
with Sean Aiken (now a realtor/ broker).

Apparently, Wagner was scalped like me one time. His accident was in Maui.

I may be wrong but I think Maui Meyer graduated from Cornell and owns a
restaurant or hotel in the Gorge?

Different Juttas. The one who was former windsurfing pro (once world
champion
in the beginning 90s) now lives (mostly) on Maui and rents some appartments
there in the upcountry.

He owned, or still does 6th St Bistro in HR. I hear he is a paddler now. HR
is ground zero for whitewater as well. Year round water, of every type
within a few miles.
