Funny thing happened on the way to the water, saw a new bannana yellow Tiga 281
that has the identical shape of the Techno. The only difference in hardware was
the usual Tiga deck pad and the straps. Other than that their shapes are out of
the very same mold.

Wonder if the Tiga 281 can officially be used in the Techno One Design races?

Yes they are the same board but Will harper in the bay area would be the one to
ask about class rules as he was the one to start it... i think if you bought it
from him it would be class legal

Bic Techno or Tiga Free X?
Here in the UK the Tiga is £50 more but you get the Tiga monopad, 48cm
select fin and the Tiga graphics. You can use either board in the UK Techno
Cup events.
Having worked with Bic Sport for 16 years I can tell you I have never had so
many forward orders for a new board. Bic have made some classic boards in
their time - Hard Rock, Rock 'n' Roll, Electric Rock, Veloce 288 etc but
this Techno will out sell the lot. Why? because everyone can use it, just
read the tests from around the world. If you want more info on a Bic Techno
or Tiga free X you could look at the new web site. www.bicsport.com or
www.tigasport.com
good windsurfing from Guy Chilvers (Bic Sport/Tiga UK).

Yes, the Tiga is class legal. They are the same construction as the
Techno, at least for this year, they are no lighter, no stiffer, just
yellow with a bigger foot pad area. This may in fact make the Tiga
heavier by an ounce or two when wet. I like the yellow, but it's not
for everybody.....\

Hey, is anyone setting up a Techno One Design web site? Would be neat to see
what's happening around the world in this class.

I've seen the Bic Techno 283/Tiga Free 281 board advertised as a light wind
board. How does it hold up in moderate and high winds?

I ask because I am a 175 lbs sailor looking for a single "all around" board. I
windsurf almost exclusively in the Mediterranean Sea off of southeastern Turkey
(near the Greek island of Knidos) and the winds are very inconsistent.

Any other boards I should look into?

Thanks!

Hi
I,ve sailed the Techno and am impressed with large sails (8.0 or so) and I
think it would be OK down to 6.5 or so.
I would not want to sail it if I needed any smaller sail.
