Unfortunately, they did not include the F2 Xantos 295 II nor the Fanatic Bee 294
MS in their test. These 2 strong contenders would have made the test so much
more interesting - at least for me as I just bought the Xantos 295 II.

We just sold the 5th one in Dallas and this year we are the light wind
capitol of the US.
I just bought the 295 race and rode it overpowered on a 6.8 race during
the downwind slalom portion of the US Open in 2-3 foot swell and it was
very easy to ride/jibe. Thanks Elliot.

None of the boards listed can really be considered serious light wind boards,
they are all just TOO HEAVY with not enough Reserve Volume for the average
sailor.
Rick.
The reason why I mentioned the F2 and Fanatic boards is that they fall in the
same category as the boards tested by the New Zealand magazine - same weight,
volume and size. Rick, did you read the article?
I had a chance to try out the Xantos 295 II on Saturday in winds ranging from 10
to 40 km per hour. With my new 7.5 m V8, I was the earliest to plane, and even
in strong gusts still managed jybes. The board has 133 liters volume and weighs
only 8.4 kg. That qualifies it for light wind for me (weight right now 75kg). Of
course, there are 250 l boards with daggerboards and battenless 8-9 m sails that
would plane even earlier.
