Does anyone know the specifications for a BIC Rap?

It is marked 260 so I figure that it is 260cm (8'6" - 2.54cm/inch).
I want to know the exact displacement and weight.

I got a used '93 last year in brand-new condition for a great price.
So far I like it a lot, very flat bottom but OK for lots of Cape Cod
conditions other than high tide.

Thanks,
Ken M.

I had a 91 Rap as my first shortboard. Although BIC said that it was 8'6"
and 88 liters, I'm pretty sure that it was actually bigger. A Wind Surfing
Magazine chart spec'ed it out at 8'7" and 92 liters, I think they actually
measured. It wasn't super light - 18 or 19 lbs.

I actually have great fondness for that board. I learned to jibe on it and
used it in a wide range of conditions. A great jumping board.

Yes, I also learn to jibe on it. Mine had the Peter Gunn yellow graphics. I want to say it was a 1990 or 1991. The through the deck fin box was a serious advancement. You could run any fin in it too. Swept back 28cm wave fin to a 34cm pointer. Considering the hard rails it was very flexible. Back then I just got out of the Navy and I was living in Sacramento, California. Needless to say I sailed at Rio Vista. This was a perfect board for there. Short enough to slash waves and floaty enough to handle lots of sail and a big fin. Totally jumpable too. I used to get rocket-air on it till the mast track collapsed and went out the bottom. That was only after plenty of heel dents and a split seam in the ASAS construction. A great board for sure that you could rip turns on.

Blimey. I've seen some people reply to old threads in various groups
recently, but none that are 18 *years* old!
