I have the opportunity to pick up a Bic Melody for free. I don't
windsurf, but it looks fun; is this rig worth picking up?

BTW, I weigh 220 and stand 6'2"; is this board a good place to start?

Can I figure this stuff out on my own or should I beg for help?

Duh. It's FREE!

Seriously, windsurfing is the best, and you'll meet many nice people. It
is truely a sense of freedom most people never experience. Go for it!

It'll work. You may take the first lesson on a bigger beginner board for
stability, but the Melody will do fine once you get going.

Take a lesson. It will save you days of frustration. If you'd E-mail me
your state and I'll recommend a school.
