FRED HAYWOOD REALTY SUPPORTS THE STARBOARD ALOHA CLASSIC WAVE
CHAMPIONSHIPS

Maui, Hawaii (USA) - The Maui Windsurfing Association is proud to
welcome Fred Haywood Realty as supporter and sponsor for the 2005
Starboard Aloha Classic Wave Championships. Fred Haywood Realty is
technologically advanced Real Estate Company with a live ocean cam on
Maui's North Shore (www.fredhaywood.com). Windsurfers can check the
weather conditions at all times of the day!

This historic 20th Anniversary of the Aloha Classic brings much needed
focus and attention on the youth and amateur market and will be the
show case for up and coming talent around the world. In addition,
Pros, past and present, will be gracing this event, providing a high
level of sportsmanship and excitement to the world over, inspiring the
next generation of windsurfers to take to the water.

"Maui's premiere windsurfing site will be a classic challenge for
all those participating. Our futures depend on the support of our
youth", Fred said about this year's Starboard Aloha Classic. The
avid windsurfer and his son will compete themselves in the 20th
anniversary of this traditional world class event, just like they did
last year. Haywood, who grew up on Maui, left his boyhood home in high
school to pursue a career in swimming. His dedication led to a national
backstroke championship in 1967, '68, and '69. He also competed in the
medley relay team with Olympian Mark Spitz. Fred was a member of the
1967 Pan American Team and became an NCAA and American record holder
during his competitive swimming career. After a degree in Economics
from Stanford University in 1971, Fred came home to Maui where he began
his real estate career in 1973. "It was before faxes, computers and MLS
listings," said Fred. "I learned to succeed by pounding the pavement
and hard work." Fred's success allowed him time to support the
windsurfing boom of the early 1980's. Not only did Fred find time to
enjoy the sport, he competed internationally, breaking the world speed
record in 1983 in Weymouth, England. The World Champion returned to
Maui to pursue his co-ownership of Sailboards Maui. The shop was the
first of its kind on the island, responsible for the innovation and
progressive developments in the sport of windsurfing, due to the high
performance conditions available on Maui's North Shore. The business
flourished and all the while, Fred continued to keep his real estate
license active. Fred's work ethics have been key to his success
throughout his life. He explains it as: "plain old perseverance,
self-motivation, determination, team leadership and all-out,
constantly-on-it hard work."

The 2005 Starboard Aloha Classic is set to run at Ho'okipa Beach Park,
starting on November 7th with registration, at Livewire Café in Paia,
followed by competition on November 8 through November 12, with

Out here on Maui, we live by his webcam. I dont even look at forecasts
or current wind speeds. Just his live video steam of the north shore
and I am good as gold! YEs, that was he with Laird Hamilton shredding
in the speed videos. They were called RIGAMAROLE and the other name
escapes me. I am still amazed by those videos and have burned a DVD
of them cause the tapes are wearing out. I love the shot of the guys
cutting the other guys sails mid flight with their fins. Makes ya
cringe!!
