HI Folks,
Anybody have any opinions on a reasonable price to ask for a "BAT"
in good condition. It's a great second board or first board for a lighter
person. I am "selling out" :-) (my complete rig), since I never really go
anymore. For that matter, any opinions on whats "fair" for a complete rig
including 2 masts, 4 older "RAF" sails, Double-clamp boom, harness, lines,
etc.? I know that it really depends on the sails, but just a "ballpark"
idea would be helpful. And answers of "50 bucks Dude!" will be ignored :*)

Thanks,
Mark

P.S. You can e-mail me or just reply here

I don't know either, but I am looking to purchase a similar sort of setup
(Fanatic Bat Light) from a freind of mine. He is asking C$850 or about
US$500. His setup includes:
Fanatic Bat Light board
1 2 piece aluminum mast
1 6.8 sail, RAF like new
1 5.2 sail Neil Pryde, pretty weathered, but no rips
1 clamp on aluminum boom
3 fins of various sizes and shapes.

Is this too much ?

Is this an OK beginners set up ?

I sold a Bat last year for $ 200.00. It took over a year to unload it. The
board was ok, but being a transition board, did nothing really well. It
doesn't have enough volume to be a good beginner board, but when the wind does
pick up, it felt like a big station wagon lumbering down the road. I found
that this board really stunted my learning curve and was glad to see it go. I
replaced it with a Veloce 328 for pokey days which my wife really likes since
she sails so infrequently. If you decide to go with it, I'd say $ 300 with all
the gear would be the max.
