I have a 5.7 Dr. X from this year.

Noticed that I have to use my max extension on rigging on 1 430 and it is a
dog to downhaul.

Starting to really like the sail and notice it handles really well when
overpowered, also great in the waves. Found it may not be as beefy with
power on the low end and had a little trouble at OB in SF when it was
lighter punching out. At OB that is a really big nightmare as those who
sail their I sure know, broken mast anyone???

Anyone else have any tips or comments on the sail.

My 5.0 is a Gaastra Grind. Got to say this is the best sail I have ever
owned. The only pain in the ass thing with it is that the mast always pulls
the mast clip out of the top of the sail when de-rigging. I always cold
then and never put it back properly and then it holds me up when rigging in
a frenzy to sail!

Any thoughts or suggestions on the Dr.X.

I have a 4.7 Grind, does anyone else have a problem with the strap which
attaches the foot of the sail to the mast foot. It always folds over the
sail a little when rigged, can't be right!?

Hi Fergus: That strap is not meant to be tightened at all. Well, just
enough to hold it in place. The intention of the strap is to allow the foot
of the sail to reach down closer to the deck for greater efficiency.
Without the strap you can imagine how that 8cm of cloth might flap around.
Again, do not put actual tension on this strap. Unlike other sails, this
strap has nothing to do with tuning. Here's a link to the Gaastra website
showing the proper look:

Remember, just enough tension to keep the foot stable. No more.
