The rumor is true. Bob and Alexa Dill decided last fall that there was more
to life than being store clerks. Bob felt like he had lost control of the
business and decided to get out. They have a house in Mosier and Bob has been
shaping boards with the Dill name on them. Bob had a business partner who will
continue running the Dill shop. The rumor is he has changed the name to
something like "Cascade Adventure".

I don't know the whole story, but the word is that Bob was bought
out by his employees; there may or may not have been disagreements
about how the place should be run, but from what I heard it the
split was fairly friendly.
The employees apparently bought the Dill name as well. The same
source says that Bob attempted to go back into business for himself
under his name, which didn't go over too well.
Dill is dead. Long live Dill. :-)

I do'nt believe Bob was bought out by the employees. Ownership of Dill
Sailboards has always been through an individual who financed the
complex where the shop is located. What equity Bob and his wife had in
the shop is not known although a comment I heard made it sound like it
was little if any. It also sounded like the departure was abrupt.

I heard Bob is shaping Surfboards and his wife Alexa is working for
DaKine.
