Try acetone, fingernail polish remover, or WD-40. The belt sander may be a
little overkill.

Say NO to acetone and other similar solvents.
Get some 'Goo Gone' at your hardware or auto supply store. Or, try 3M
Citrus Based Cleaner.
Both are clean and far less hazardous to you and the environment.
Plus, they work better and are cheaper...
Apply, let it sit for a few minutes and then scrape/wipe in one
direction. Repeat as necessary. Your sail will look new...
