What water temp/air temp have you or others tested them in ?

I've almost given up finding a better glove than the thick neoprene hunting
gloves I use, but was extremely interested in the mysterioso gloves you
posted a pic of.

From the brief description the palms are neoprene; what are the backs made
of ? Is the fleec a lining on the inside ?

I'm getting into prime cold weather sailing now which really stokes
me. Saturday was gusting to 40 knots, air -2 (28F) water around 4
(40F) with an insane windchill, although with only the face exposed,
it really doesn't have much of an effect.

Here's a couple pics; WARNING uncontrolled shivering may occur upon
viewing this pictures. Make sure you have a hot cup of coffee before
clicking on the link ;-)

Thanks,
Steve.

Hi Steven,
Dude I'm trying to get to you...you da man in the cold stuff...
I've got to scram over to the fin factory in 5 minutes, to pick up a big
batch of fins that everyone is screaming for...
People in Hood River leaving for Baja, Texans...Floridians...New Yorkers...
Geezus...doesn't anyone work?!?!...;-)

Hopefully this will help you...

I think you could wear dishwashing gloves underneath and handle
anything, anywhere...stretchy neo palms and polarfleece tops...super
flexible and max dexterity...pull wetsuit or drysuit on over them...
Never seen anything like this...and no, they're not available at any
outdoor store as someone definitely not in the know has suggested...
Working on a bigger production run next month, but some are available now...
The M-tech Balaclava is insanely comfy and warm...fleecy neck gasket...
pulls down under chin...or over nose...non encumbering...

Both pieces are featherweight and scrunch up to nothing...slip in pocket
type stuff...

Neo palms... How thick? Although I haven't used the Mysterioso gloves, the
only gloves I've had success with, actually DK's mittens, have either no
palm or the non-insulating water ski glove type material in the palms. Every
glove or mitten I've tried with [any thickness of] neoprene in the palms
makes my forearms pump-up. And it's not a matter of having small hands, I
wear XL gloves. However, I cover my hands more to minimize wind-chill than
to insulate against ice-cold water. IMHO, conductive heat loss thru the
palm, especially when gripping a foam-gripped boom, isn't that significant.
Pre-shaping the glove or mitten helps minimize forearm pump but a thinner
palm helps even more. Thickness in the palm is like having old WH Gorilla
booms. Would be interesting if there was a Mysterioso glove or mitten with
the same type of very thin palm that DK uses.

No thicker than 0.5mm...some of the stretchiest neoprene out there...
finger to finger dexterity...might even be less than .5mm...the palms
are paper thin...gripping a boom feels awesome...
I'll ask Steve today when he calls...thinner than the polar
fleece...full hand condoms...
