Thought I'd give everybody an update on responses to Internet Board
Reviews on windsurfer.com (http://www.windsurfer.com). After a litte
more than a month we have had over two hundred Board and Travel Reviews
submitted, so we're starting to get some useful numbers. Just a
reminder to go submit some reviews if you haven't already. Many thanks
to those of you who have already participated.

Since we are still getting people who haven't seen the previous posts
about this service, let me describe Internet Board and Travel Reviews
again. We have established a Web site where you can do two things (among
others):

1. Read reviews and comments submitted by other Internet windsurfers
from around the world on boards and travel destinations. Numerical
ratings for boards are averaged according to skill level; for travel
destinations, they are averaged by month.

2. Submit your own reviews and comments. Use the forms at the bottom
of the board pages to submit numerical ratings, and leave comments in the
space provided. If your board is not on the list, you can add it. Same
idea for travel destinations.

The goal is to get enough reviews so that the averaged ratings reflect
the world-wide opinions and experiences of windsurfers regarding specific
boards and destinations. We believe that this would be an extremely
valuable resource for everyone, but it depends on everyone's willingness
to participate.

If you have suggestions, please let me know.

I've browsed through the Windsurfer.com board reviews, and I think this is
a great
idea! I submitted my opinion on the boards I own & hope a lot of other
other people
do the same. The reviews will become more significant with greater
numbers of people
putting their 2 cents worth in.

A couple of very good things could come from strong participation:

* We will have an easy to access source of info from other recreational
sailors about
boards we may want to buy.

* We will have a forum to provide feedback on the boards & qualities we
value to
the board manufacturers.

Take a look and add your opinion on the boards you own.

(Stuff deleted.)

I second the motion. Although democratic review results in opinion by lowest common denominator, this opinion is usually better than advertision hype!

I've also entered my review of the board I own (Mistral Edge). Great
idea. Unfortunately, there aren't very many reviews for the next board
I'm interested in (Mistral Energizer for light wind days). Anyone with
an Energizer please submit your reviews. This has the potential to be
a great source of information.
