I believe I caught N1 on F-1, 11 yesterday. What in the world is it?
The programming was bizarre and the commercials were all 900 numbers.

Ahhhh Yesssss, Network 1.....

Well, if you remember the PoolParty of a couple of years ago, heh heh
heh....

It's _supposed_ to be 'family entertainment' stuff during the day, but
goodness only knows what goes on there after dark.

And some of the females look like Spice-rejects, IMnsHO :-)

I think there's anywhere from 1 hour to 1.5 hours of 'family entertainment'
on there per day. ONSAT reports that at 8am and 10am there's "Klassic
Kartoons", and at 8:30am there's another 30-minute slot that looks
innocent. I saw "Klassic Kartoons" last Sunday. They managed to keep the 1-
900 numbers out of the cartoons (an old Popeye & a Betty Boop), but they
showed up again just before 8:30. I'm sorry, but 1-900 ads don't fit into
my definition of "family entertainment".

Other than that, it's aerobics, wet T-shirts, stripper dance contests
(complete with center pole), etcetera ad nauseum, and those flicks aimed
solely at adolescent males still confused about hormonal changes (I was one
once :-). I haven't seen any actual nudity, but then again I only flip by
whilst checking out what's on Satcom C1 ("F1").

Cheers!

Family entertainment my eye... N1 shows the same tripe 24 hours a day.
Stuff such as "Sexpot" and Miss Hot Body Cancun gets equal time during
the sunlight hours. The only family stuff is a three-hour block of
morning programming that includes black-and-white "Klassic Kartoons",
aerobics, Bible Stories, and something called "Swayze Dancing", which
is led by someone who is apparently Patrick Swayze's mom or aunt
(Patrick himself makes a brief cameo).

That being said, it's still worth tuning in to N1 from time to time;
they have an impressive library of kitschy old short films and
commericials, including the "Suicide Theatre" thing with a young
DeForest Kelley. They also showed a more complete version of the
ever-popular "Do's and Don't's of Dating", which was chopped up a few
years ago by USA's Night Flight. My advice is to watch the very end
of any particular movie and see what they fill up the remaining time
with.
