I noticed that some time over the past couple of weeks the Weather
Channel has changed what we dish owners get when it's "time for your
local foercast" We used to get that silly list of cities and forcasts
that scrolled by.

Now they start with a loop of the latest satellite pictures, and include
national radar - and give the forecasts over a national map.

Much more useful - now I can at least see local radar during thos big storms.

Yes Bob, I agree--a great move by the Weather Channel. Now if they would only
get rid of the majority of those stupid talking heads and just show us the
maps, it would be an excellent channel!.J

There's hope...my cable sytem (Continental/Westchester, NY) is testing the
"Weather Channel Local Edition"...it's continuous graphics (the same ones
as you see during the local breaks)...with a music background. It cuts to the
The graphics are the
maps/forecasts, temps,radar, etc...with no announcers. It looks like they're

just using the local weather graphics computer to create another cable channel!
