I have received an old STS satellite receiver, however I am not getting
any video or audio from the receiver and cannot move the dish from G5.
All other controlls on the receiver seem to work.
I checked the center conductor of the cable to the LNB and did not get
any voltage, should there be a constant aprox. 18 volts on this?

What does the connector that is marked - D2 D1 CLOCK STL and the Switch
marked D1-D2 do.

How do I reprogram the satellites and lower and upper limits on this.

Thanks.
Orville Phillips.

Hello Orville

That's a lot of questions, what you really need is the manual for that
receiver.

Go to:

http://www.netins.net/showcase/satfix/schematicmanual.htm

and see if he has your model.

Yes.

If I remember right, the D1/D2 switch is the Master/Slave switch. Put it on
D2, or the dish won't move.

You'll need the remote. To set the lower limit :
!. move the dish down to the lower limit position
2. Push the select button on the receiver until the position number is
blinking.
3. Push the clear button on the remote.
4. Push the store botton on the receiver. Then the position will be
displaying "10", and the dish will stop moving when it gets down to 9. The
upper limit is always about 2 numbers above the uppermost stored satellite,
and you don't set it.
I'm doing this from memory, and I haven't programmed one of those for a
couple of years. I think the part above in line 2 might be: ..until the
satellite name is blinking. I think the manual had it wrong as well. I
always had trouble with that procedure, and had to try several times to get
it to reset back to 10. Also, if I remember right, the fuse on the back
of the receiver is only for the motor output, so check it.
