Subject: Re: XP, Premiere and output to my Sony TRV30E (fwd)
I think that I have the exact same problem using the trv30e in XP. All
worked fine in w2k but now only the preview and export to tape stop after X
seconds. I don't know a solution yet but maybe my experiences with this
problem might help you.
This is what I tried so far:
I noticed that when you do a video preview (export>print to video) in
premiere it doesn't even show it on your screen like it does when you
preview a movie using an other codec (instead of DV codec) or an other OS
than windows XP. That's why I thought this had to do something with the
microsoft DV codec, I tried to install other dv codecs (dvsoft (adaptec),
and the mainconpect DV codec) but they all have the same problem. So my
guess is that it has to do with the driver of the firewirecard but I am not
sure. I have a pinnacle DV 200, but am currently using the Texas Instiments
driver (TI OHCI 1394 host adapter) provided by Microsoft, maybe when the
DV200 drivers for XP are released I will be able to tell if this solves the
problem but for now the problem remains. I tried the camera on a brand new
athlon 1800 XP using raid controller and a sounblaster audigy (has an
inbuilt IEEE1394 port) but this system had the exact same problem, i think
that this system is using the Texas instruments driver as wel but i am not
sure and can't find it on the internet. This problem only exists in windows
XP, any other os works fine except for XP.
Any help would be welcome!!!
regards,
Jasper Tonk
P.S. Eddie could you tell me what chipset your firewire card uses and your
system specifications? might help us a lot.

Subject: XP, Premiere and output to my Sony TRV30E
I have no problems capturing all frames from my Sony DCR-TRV30E onto my pc,
but when exporting it back to the tape after editing it, all I get is my
fancy blue screen. No problems with getting it to record through the Device
Control - however, no frames are being transferred. Is this problem XP
specific? I have tried exporting in many different progs, but with the same
result. Is changing driver any idea?
Any help would be great!
