I have a playable movie file that is 718,819KB AVI file, ( can play it on my
laptop with Media Player with no problem). I am trying to convert it with
Magic DVD Converter 8.? (Vista) so that I can load it on a DVD to play on my
TV.
My problem is:
After conversion it creates several files that total approx. 20.475 MB
(21,470,380,032 bytes). My DVD can hold only 4,489 MB (4,707,319,808 bytes).
How does one convert a movie file so that it is a size less than 4,489 MB
that will fit on a standard DVD?
Thanks
The question is not the size of your original avi file (a highly
compressed format) but how long is the movie? That will determine the
final file size of a DVD.
Most modern standalone DVD players will play avi's directly without the
need to lose quality by converting to DVD. Just burn your avi to a CDR
as DATA. No loss of quality and the same size as you started out.
Your figures expressed in MB are clearly not correct as 20.475MB would
fit more tan comfortably on a CDR let alone a DVD that has a capacity of
4.7GB.
A much better program for conversion to DVD is VSO ConvertXtoDVD and it
will always produce a final file size that fits on either a DVD5 or DVD9
(user selected) DVD5 = 4.7GB a normal DVDR)
Or ... if the OP doesn't want to spend the money ... the freeware package
DVDFlick will do an acceptable - if slower - job.
Nice, you only slightly changed your spam from all the other groups
you've posted to.
