Not that I am aware of, but others may know.

QuickPar doesn't decompress the files, it only makes sure that all
files (usually RAR archives) are complete and lets you repair them in
case they are not too much damaged. For extracting the archives you
need a tool like WinRAR. The result should be a bunch of files with
names like VIDEO_TS.BUP, VIDEO_TS.IFO, VIDEO_TS.VOB, VTS_XX_X.BUP,
VTS_XX_X.IFO and several VTS_XX_X.VOB files which actually contain the
movie data. For my DVD player to recognize them, they have to be in a
folder named VIDEO_TS.

Feel free to keep asking if questions remain.

That's one guide, but it's pretty old.

Videohelp.com appears to be one of the best online resources for your
type of question. Search the site for your questions.

In general, downloaded files from usenet are archived in rar format file
sets. You'll need software that supports extracting rar files to get the
DVD files. QuickPar is for parity files, which are used to check and
recover downloaded rar archive sets. For DVDs, the archives will
normally contain the video files (VIDEO_TS folder files) or an image file
of the DVD.

I use Nero to burn DVD5 video files and images. There probably are free
programs out there that will them. I don't know about Sonic. Here's a
free one I believe will work:

I use imgburn for burning DVD9 images on dual layer discs. I'm sure it
will burn DVD5 images as well. I also use it to create a burnable image
file of DVD9 VIDEO_TS file sets.

Why, exactly?

What makes it better than the numerous other solutions, including the free
ones??
