Yes under these circumstances: 1. The DVD is not encoded with a flag turning
on Macrovision. 2. The Macrovision turned on is only the type to impact
automatic gain control and the VCR is relatively non-sensitive to such
automatic gain control signals. 3. You employ a little black box that blocks
or otherwise eliminates both kinds of Macrovision. 4. You purchase a DVD
player with either a switch (early Sony 7000 units for example) or a chip
change to turn off regional codes and Macrovision, or 5. You purchase a DVD
player that lets you turn off Macorvision with a remote control sequence,
(The Apex and the Samsung DVD players come to mind).
