Hi everyone!

Does anyone know, if the NEW Toshiba SDM-1212 (6x drive - not the 1202 5x)
does check the regional code different than its predecessor 1202? I know,
that the 1202 does not chek fo rthe code, but some new drives seem to change
the code only five times. Does anybody know more about this drive?
AND: Has anyone combined this drive with the Hollywood Plus card?

Thanks! Jochen

I don't have this drive but it is my understanding that it does check the
region. Every DVDROM drive sold from now on (starting in 2000 in fact) will
do that. That sucks, because it's illegal to import/export drives from other
DVD regions. As if...

About the Hollywood Plus card, may I suggest you checkout the NG
realmagic.questions on the server news.sigmadesigns.com
Someone there has probably already tried the combination.
