Hello

I was wondering if anyone has any information on moving information from
35mm MicroFilm to a video or Digital format then moving to a autocad.dwg file.

I am looking at converting 1,000's of micro-film images to autocad's dwg.

I am trying to make the conversion without going to paper.

My thoughts were to install a frame graber card and use a video camera (b&w)
and a MicroFilm projector.

What about a Digital B&W Camera VS Black/White Video Camera.

High resolution is needed to capture details, what resolution is video in DPI?

How will video compaired to Digital's DPI?

The images would be captured and stored on cd rom for processing and clean-up.

Post or Email I read both.

David

David--

I don't think you will be happy with the low resolution and
multiple conversions involved in projector->camera->frame grabber->bitmap.
Have you considered using a slide scanner (Nikon, Polaroid)? They have the
resolution you need, and can handle filmstrips, so I assume they
could handle cut or uncut microfilm as well. Should save you time
and give you better results.

Thanks Tom for the information, I was wondering if Nikon, Polaroid or
ScanMaker have a system in which I could Mount the reels of MicroFilm to try
to auto the process.

What would be a street price be per frame, from a Scan Lab?

I have about 5,000 total frames to scan.

Also how big are the processed files, if the microFilm is monocrome.

What monocrome resolution could I expect.

Again Thanks for the Info
