I posted a message in rec.desktop.video and less than twenty minutes later
I used the Alta Vista search through Usenet option to find this message,
it displayed the whole message, any possible responses, and any internet
WWW addresses were highlighted and ready to jump to!
Go ahead, try it, post a new message in our newsgroup, wait a reasonable
amount of time, go to Alta Vista at: http://altavista.digital.com and
enter your name, or the topic of your message, search through the Usenet,
not the Web. Boom, there it is.
What a power trip. Also a great way to dig through the newsgroups for
messages. The web browser I tried this with is MS Explorer 3.0
Why can't AOL get a more full bodied browser, like MS Explorer!
Alta Vista is the best search engine!
I'm sorry about contributing to the clutter of this great newsgroup, maybe
I'll show more patience in the future, and actually think before firing
away.
Well, I for one is glad that you posted this information. I tried it
with Netscape 2.0 and it works just fine. It's a good way to find your
previous posts and posts on specific subjects. Very useful.
