Whenever possible (and particularly for operating systems), I try to do a
clean install when upgrading, inserting the previous disk when called for to
qualify for the upgrade. Clean installs always seem to be less problematic.
However, the web site states: "NOTE:To install the upgrade successfully, you
will need a licensed version of Adobe Premiere Pro 1.x or Adobe Premiere 6.5
or earlier on the same platform as this purchase." It specifically says
"platform", and not a licensed version "installed on the same computer".
That implies you could not use a previous Mac version to qualify for the
(now) Windows only Premiere 2.
So, will Premiere Pro upgrade as a clean install as long as I have the disk
Pro 7 (before the version number change) disk available, or does it need to
be done "over the top" of the existing registered version?
Bottom line - Uninstall Pro 7 and then upgrade, or not?
