Enigma, the Miro DC30+ is the bestselling high-end video editing
system. The latest bundle includes lots of bundled software and the
capture quality is excellent. If you want to do serious video editing,
definitely choose the DC30 - especially because it is on sale with a
rebate from Pinnacle as well.

The average rating the Miro DC30+ has received from actual non-biased
customers is 5-stars. You can read their comments and reviews on this
card at our web site.

The only disadvantage is that it includes Premiere 5.0 - which it sounds
like you already have. Despite that, the card is worth it in terms of
quality and features.

We also have detailed specifications, recommended hardware, and
compatibility information on our web site. We look forward to serving
you!

Miro DC30+ ................ $ 699.00 after rebate!

High End?

Wheres its component I/O? Oh I forgot it doesnt have any.
You are using sales speak. I am not knocking the DC30+
but to call it high end is a bit overstateing. You can
say its the best in its class or beats systems for the money
but high end. Not without RS422 batch capture and
component I/0 its not. How about real time editing like
Digisuite LE or DPS PVR RT. High end? Whos end
are you talking about.

Bob.

The high-end I meant was high-end professional/prosumer - not
necessarily broadcast quality which I would classify the Perception RT
into, for example.

In terms of someone looking to launch a business doing video and
animation work, the Miro DC30 is the popular choice and is on the
high-end of quality, price, performance. The low end includes
inexpensive options such as the Buz, Studio 400 and DC10+.

Enigma,

I hope you realize that Jeff Hoffman's response is a purely commercial
advertisement from a company (Safe Harbor Computers) know for only
posting positive responses on its web site. Obviously, they like the
Videoguys, are using this newsgroup to drum up business for those
items that give them the biggest profit margin.

It's one thing to use a newsgroup for commercial purposes, it is
another to lie about the kind of response they supposedly get from
"actual non-biased customers". To me this type deception is
reprehensible. I personally would never buy anything from a company
that uses this newsgroup for advertising, and certainly would never
purchase from a company that lies about what it's users supposedly
report. If they'll lie about that, what else will they lie about?

Ask yourself, why would Jeff Hoffman be so hot to sell you a DC30 when
there are better boards with equal software (such as the Bravado 2000
among others) available for $200 less, or even Pinnacle's own DC10+
for $500 less? Makes you wonder, doesn't it!

But, as they say, buyer beware.

I can't understand what you are basing this on. Yes, the DC30+ has
taken alot of heat on the newsgroups at times and yes, there are end
users who will warn you not to buy it. But we have had tremendous
success with the card. For most of our customers it does work
fantastic. I see absolutely no reason why many users would not give it
5 stars.

I am not trying to comment on the editorial integrity of any website.
The web as a whole is a very biased medium. Most websites tend to be
either very pro or con on products, issues, people etc. Obviously a
commercial sight is going to be very positive about the products they
sell.

As for our own http://www.videoguys.com website I admit we are very
pro DTV and I constantly post about the virtues of our products. But
we also put a 30 day satisfaction guarantee on every one of them PLUS
we offer FREE tech support. I try to take home and install every new
card we get, and I beta test for several of our vendors. I use our
equipment on standard home PCs. My current Micron MIllenium PII400 is
on its 6th different card (a Canopus DV Rex for those interested). The
reason our on line tech support has so much info on it is from first
hand experieince and working with customers to find solutions.

I'll be the first one to admit that no card is perfect and that plug &
play too often doesn't. Unfortunatley, all our cards require some
level of tech support for some customers. But overall our customers
are a very satisfied lot. I feel quite strongly that right now, the
DC30+ is the BEST windows based analog video capture card (under
$1000) on the market for use with Premiere 5.1.
