Canopus product page in case anyone else is interested.
I am going to be using this device to capture from several analog sources
and I am just wondering how good it is.
1) As far as I can tell, the difference between this device (the ADVC 50)
and the ADVC100 is that the ADVC 100 allows you to output an analog signal
as well as DV, whereas the ADVC 50 only allows DV input/output.
2) Does the device allow you to disable macrovision ala the original 100
somehow?
3) How well does this device work with a Pyro card mounted in one of the
5.25 drive bays in a computer (if anyone has done this yet).
4) Where is the best place to purchase this thing? I live in Canada and
get killed on shipping and taxes so finding somewhere reliable that has one
in stock would be great.
5) Lastly, how exactly does this product work with say Premiere? Do I
press play on a VCR while attached to this device and hit record within
Premiere to capture the video there or is there some sort of device control
added to Premiere and other NLE programs?
(*) Please note that I have cross posted this message to both
rec.video.production and rec.video.desktop
Thanks in advance..

You will need to set the source VCR/camcorder going, and start the capture
manually at the PC.
I was able to use the TRV120 with all of Raptor, Raptor-RT and Pyro/Premiere
6.
