Sony TRV 10 - How Good is it?

I am looking at buying a TRV 10E. Has anyone out there purchased one and if
so what are your thoughts on the camera.

I've been doing some research on this very subject today. What I found was that

the TRV10 and the Canon MV20 (Elura) were around the same price. But
the Sony had an advantage over the Canon with the Memory Stick function
built into it. To get this feature with the Canon would have been another $900.

The Sony TRV10 is reviewd in the February 2000 issue of Videomaker -
just got it so I haven't read it yet. (The Canon GL1 is also
reviewed.)

TRV10E also has transcoding from analogue. Downside is that is is a bottom
loading camcorder, awkward for tripod use.

So long as you can work with bottom loading (camcorder must be removed from
tripod to change tapes), then keep looking at it.
