I have a chance to pick up some NP-F530 batteries for $5.00. These
are brand new still in the package. When I went to Sony's site and to
other vendor's site I don't see this product advertised. Is this an
older model battery? It is shown in my 310 manual as having a longer
life than the NP-550 which came with the camera. If this is the case
then at $5.00 it would seem to be a super good deal! Does anyone
haave any experience using the NP-530 battery?

Thanks,

Tom

Opps. This should have read the NP-F330 that came with the camera.

I think the 530 and 550 are the same batteries, but are sold
through different channels. I bought a 530 battery from Sears
last summer for around $40. I'd be very suspicious of anybody
selling any info-Lithium battery for as little as the $5. They
do wear out. I've been using them since I bought a Sony Hi-8
camcorder in 1996, and have worn out several. I also had one die
right after I bought it in 1996.

Thanks.

These are brand new batteries still in the original packaging and have
never been opened. I think the store just made a mistake on pricing.
The stick on tag showed $30 but when they scanned them they showed
$4.99!
