I have a new Canopus Rex M1 card and breakout box. The analog stuff works
fine, but I can't get the fire wire port to speak to my Canon Optura camera.
Anyone have this experience and solve it?

You should be asking this question of Canopus support or on the DV-Rex

The answer is likely that you have not attached a dv cable from the back
panel of the DVRex card to the rear of the breakout box. Analog will
work fine, but DV will not unless you connect the cable.
