I am about to make a purchase, but not sure what to get. I was looking
at the Panasonic S7680, but most places dont carry it anymore since it is
an old model. I dont really want to get a JVC if I can help it, does anyone
have any ideas? The panasonic was around $460 shipped, I want to stay
under that for sure. Doesnt have to be SVHS either.
I also wanted to get another VCR for my Living Room, Just needs to be Hi-Fi,
Sony has alot of well priced units, which is better than the rest? they all
look the same to me..

TIA

I have a 7680 and it has been a very good deck. I've had it a couple of years
now, used it pretty heavily and it still works perfectly.

As to a household deck, I have a duplicating setup in which I used six Sharp
Hi-Fi VHS units (don't remember the model, but they sold at Rex for about $139
each. They work well and have the fastest rewind system I've ever seen on a
VHS machine.

Anything by Sony should be fine...I bought the Sharps because the local Rex
store was giving a free 2 year extended warranty on them at the time.
