My reseller tells me that the VX1000 is too heavy for a Steadycam Jr. Is
this true?

Is there anyone out there using a VX1000 with a Steadycam Jr in the real
world who can tell me how well this set-up really works.

Thanking you in advance.

Ian,

I'm using my VX-1000 on the Steadycam Jr. and have not had any problems.
They even have its settings specced out in their "Cookbook" (which I've
found I've had to modify drastically for my camera). It takes time and
experimentation to get it balanced, but once you get it it works fine.

We tried Steadicam Jr and Handyman and preferred the Handyman - it's
quicker to set up, and handles better

Glide cam is coming out with a chest mounted model for the VX 1000. It
should be out in about two months. If you need a great system you might
want to wait. Approx. cost $2800.

One of my friends/compeditors here in town is using a 1000/SCJr. rig and
it is working very well for him. His says the freedom it affords is
tremendous and his work looks great.
