Come to Videomaker's web site (http://www.videomaker.com/welcome2.htm) and
sign up to win a fabulous $8,000 edit bay, compliments of Panasonic.

It's simple to enter...and hey, you have nothing to lose and everything to

Is it just that I woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning, or are
these people becoming about as bad as the rest of the spammers..?

At least once a week, "Amy" posts some come-on in most of the video-related
newsgroups to lure readers to Videomaker's website where they are obviously
trying to sign everyone up for a magazine subscription.

If Videomaker really wants to make friends in this community, maybe they
could get one of their experts to spend an hour or so a day answering
questions rather than simply broadcasting their advertising.

Comments..?

Interesting point Larry... I actually went to their site and ended up
with a bill for a year's subscription when all I wanted was the free
issue for checking out the site.

I have had an interesting e-mail dialog with Matt York, the publisher of
Videomaker magazine regarding this subject...

For those of you who are/were/would ACTUALLY interested in this
apparent random drawing for an editing "suite", a more DIRECT URL for
the offer is:

http://www.videomaker.com/circ/other/sweepweb.htm

I had a hell of a time finding it the first few times... beyond all of
the ads and offers for "free" issues of Videomaker, etc.

I hate to say it, but you just proved their point Amy. Spamming is the
useless waste of bandwidth for personal gain, which is what you just did
by posting a message that quotes 3 separate posts. Not only that, but
you sent it 4 times!
