I am trying to put video (probably from a hi8 camcorder and later from a
dv one) onto my website. I was told to buy Avid Editor and a pinnacle
studio capture card. Any suggestions? I need something easy that will
let me edit stills, video and digital video and then put them in the right
web format. Also, I was wondering if you have any suggestions for website
providers who provide good rates and service to sites with lots of video.

Thanks

I use 3 Pinnacle Studio DC10+ and placed a few video clips on our website, I
used Premier to edit them and then using Media Cleaner EZ to compress them.

Check it out: http://www.mdifilm.com/video.html

You can do it a lot cheaper than that. If you're doing just DV, the cheapest
way to go is a Pyro firewire card and Ulead Video Studio. It's low end, but
it'll do what you want. It will put your video into any number of
web-friendly video formats. If you want to get serious, though, you'll
probably have to upgrade. That might be more expensive in the long run.
