Why not try the Sony MXP-390? I've used that console for years. Great box
and VERY quiet. Only about $7000.

*G* Well, I guess you realize you've given the answer to that yourself.
$7000 is way out of my budget. A used MX30 or AVE55 is about all I can
afford.

I have seen very few of these for sale though, I wonder if they aren't
all that popular?

Sorry, I didn't know what the mixers you were referring to cost.

The MXP-390S is very popular in Edit Suites. We had 6 of them at the
station I used to work at.

I think they are very popular, which is why you don't see a lot of
them up for sale. They pack a lot of features and some pretty good
performance into those boxes. It'll be quite awhile before I'm ready
to give up my MX-50.
