Hello,

The only working video tools that I have presently are
Avisynth and VirtualDub.

I need to take one photo (image file) and produce a
video file from it consisting of zooming into that
photo, i.e. it starts at 100% and zooms in to maybe
the center 25%.

Anybody know how I can accomplish this?

Also, later I will want to be able to make it pan left & right.

So far, looking through the Doom9 forums I have
found nothing.

Thanks.

You should point out that you are using these programs
in a Linux environment. Many of us use these same
programs under Windows. There are often different
capabilities for these type of cross-platform programs,
based on which platform they are working in.

Luck;

If one is working in Windows, the free Microsoft Photo Story 3 also does
panning and zooming of one or more photos, and allows adding sound. I
believe it only outputs WMV however.

Do a Google search for 'ken burns effect'. The search results may give you
some helpful links.

I've used pan & zoom filters for VirtualDub (google for those). Type in
coordinates to control. Recently I've been using Sony Vegas and that's a
whole lot more intuitive. I have no idea about Avisynth.
