Does anyone know which hotels near Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO) offer a
shuttle service to and from the airport, preferably free to geasts?
Which hotels can you recommend to a traveller with an early Sunday
morning departure from FCO?

This info is probably 9yrs old but I looked into it back then, so for
what it's worth.

The big expensive (chain) hotels offered a free shuttle service with
*their* company shuttle bus.

The smaller hotels in the area offered a shuttle service but thru a
seperate private company with multiple pick-ups at other hotels.

IIRC the 1st hotel pick-up was ~7am and then on to the other hotels.
It's in the back of my mind and I could be wrong but I recall this
particular company didn't run on Sunday which I thought was rather odd
for an airport service.

So if you do find a FCO area hotel be sure you have the schedule for
the shuttle service they use.

[I don't know if this applies to you.]

The 3 reasons to stay at the airport hotels IMO are; you arrived at the
airport and your connecting flight is early the next morning, you
arrived in Rome by train and need a hotel just for the night so you
train out to the airport that same day or you are dropping off a car at
the airport and leaving early the next day.

But *if* you have been staying in Rome it's alot easier just to spend
the last night in Rome and either take a taxi (€40) or a limoservice
for (€40-50), like this company
www.romeshuttlelimousine.com

The Rome-FCO train is €14 and if you had to taxi to the train station,
figure ~ €10 so €24 if you are traveling alone.

Plus an airport hotel *might* be more expensive than the one in Rome so
another possible saving?

I took a Limo from near the Termini train station to the airport in ~05
(Sunday @ 0510), I was at the airport in exactly 20min.
150km thru the wide straight roads leading out of the city center and
200km once he hit the Autostrada!

Also I know there is/was a private bus early-AM service that did
multiple hotel pick-ups and got to FCO very early for ~€25 but I can't
recall the company (Viator?). Regards, Walter
