I suspect there's not a literal translation of the word. Try "wedding
trip".

I looked in my italian book and it is:

viaggio di nozze

which is literally "journey for wedding" or "wedding trip"

Although there is a literal translation having to do with miele (honey)
and luna (moon), I believe the Italians call it "Il viaggio della nozze"
(lit. "the marriage trip").

Perhaps a native speaker will verify (or correct) this for me.

'Viaggio di nozze' and 'luna di miele' are both used, about equally so
near as I can tell. Either will be perfectly correct and understandable
in writing or in speech.

There is, there is, of course. "Viaggio di nozze" is widely used, and
literally means wedding trip. Luna di miele also exists, and has exactly
the same literally meaning as honeymoon.

Well, Spaniards certainly don't say "the marriage trip." Are you telling
me that Spaniards (who say "luna de miel") are more romantic that Italians?

Collins Italian Dictionary gives both luna di miele and viaggio di
notte. Oxford (OUP) gives luna di miele. Cassell's "Colloquial
Italian" also gives luna di miele. As the Bellman said, what I tell you
three times must be true. (Anyone with Italian as a first language like
to chip in?).
