Hi,

I am in the early stages of planning a week long trip to Ireland (so
far alone) in the spring. What I am interested in is a working farm
vacation but not completely out in the boonies. I searched online but I
am not having much luck. Any info or websites would be greatly
appreciated. This will be my first time visiting Ireland, I do not have
an area in mind, so I am open to staying anywhere.

Thanks in advance!

I found these by typing farm working holiday Ireland.

There are also http://www.farmhouseaccommodation.co.uk/ but I don't
know if it'll be very helpful.

Here we go again!
Still pushing his/her own website.
Don't bother to reply, you are wasting your efforts.

I don't understand why you are so sure this is a spammer! Many posters
here attach some sort of phrases to their (automatic) signature. It can
often be a travel-site reference or web-page address (as in this case).
Others use a favorite quotation or clever saying, even though the post
itself or the newsgroup to which it is made are unrelated. Our
Vietnamese waitress is certainly not the first to include a web-address,
and I'm quite sure it's easier to include it than to delete it, if
it's part of her standard signature. Remember JACK? He replied to
other posters with all kinds of useful information. Many of us had
reason to be grateful to him for his responses (whether they advertised
his web-page address or not). ....He hasn't been around for quite some
time - does anyone know what happened to him?

Evelyn

As I mentioned before this person has posted this sort of query regularly
over the past months in a number of travel related newsgroups. Prior to that
he/she posted as "thenotebook" and before that as "pink life" and today
posted this same query on rec.travel.asia as Quoc Huy. Maybe you could just
check for his/her posts with a Google search and you will see what I have
been getting at.
Several other posters in other groups have warned people about this poster
as well.
If this is a travel agent who is asking questions on behalf of clients and
owned up to it then I wouldn't say anything. I might have my doubts about
their expertise though. :-)

As far as Jack is concerned I don't think you can compare him with this
poster. Jack only ever gave advice to other people's questions and also had
a very informative website. I have used it several times planning trips to
Europe and I found the attacks on him highly distasteful. You can still
access his website through the archives kept by www.web.archive.org at
http://web.archive.org/web/20070201213045/http://jack-travel.com What
happened to him I do not know. This question has been asked previously on
this ng but no one came up with an answer at that time. Maybe someone else?

So? Perhaps she actually expects an intelligent reply, occasionally.

A great many people post to several sites at the same time (some much
less related to the groups purpose than travel). Again, so what?

So you're not the only anal-retentive idiot posting to newsgroups. The
internet isn't limited to people with a brain. Again, so what!

It's a mystery to me why you DO "say anything"! Is it so difficult to
simply scroll past posts of which you personally disapprove?

Actually, that's not entirely true - he initiated a great many posts on
subjects of interest to travelers.

Out of curiosity, have you bothered to check waitressvn's website? I
admit I have not, but how do we know it is not equally "informative" for
people interested in travel to Asia?

Pushing? Perhaps, I answered (& went to the trouble to find the info)
having never noticed the signature.
And have you considered that you're serving to highlight it. Pays well
does it?

If you haven't checked it, then quit posting your dumb remarks.
