Sigh. Pass the medicinal shrimp, please. I need something to settle my
nerves.
It could be because we never left anything that had to be "doggy bagged". :(

DP-c,
Are you implying that the "Swan Thingee" (tm) is not being served on
Celebrity? I am looking forward to a swan thingy real-soon...

We never left any of them either. : )
Crème Patisserie. And, unless I decide to get really, really creative
tomorrow, none for me for another 6 months.

We had towel animals on the Disney Magic.

They have the same thing on Princess and they are so good.

I would prefer they took better care of the cabin than make towel
animals. The two cabin attendents I liked the least were on RCI and did
great towel animals. The best cabin attendent I had on RCI did not do
towel animals. On Celebrity and Princess which are considered upscale
they don't do towel animals. I beleive I have read in reviews that they
do towel animals on Carnival.

They go back a long way. I first saw them on the German Atlantic Line's
Hanseatic in 1968.

Candy, that looks so delicious I got dizzy. Oy.
Yes. Arlene... Celebrity still has those Swan Thingees... as disgusting as
ever.
Puff pastry was never meant to be served cold... it gets soggy.
And that "pastry cream" blech.......

Is it a ship-wide policy, or is it up to the individual room steward
(which is what I thought)? We've cruised with friends/family in the past,
and have had different towel animal experiences, on the same ship - in
different cabin locations. I'll get animals, while my sister, one deck
down, will not.
The most impressive towel animals I experienced were on Carnival - very
creatively done.
On Windjammer, we actually had some fancy towel folding. One day they were
stingrays, one day a sail boat - can't remember the other days, but they
were cutely done.
So, getting back to the Swan Thingees (not sure how this thread evolved
into towel animals anyway), taking my first Celebrity cruise in August,
and am hoping that the Swan Thingees will make an appearance at some point
- their reputation is legend.

I thought it was more of a profiterole - choux paste cream puff type of
thing. Puff pastry is the flaky stuff. Is that what you mean?

Custard cream?

I have not alway had towel animals on RCI so they might encourage it
but not require it. Someone told me that they have instructions on how
to make towel animals on the crew bulletion boards. I have never had a
towel animal on Celebrity or Princess so I suspect that those lines
discourage them.

I had one once. I don't care for them. I have seen the Swan Things on
the other cruise lines. They are not unique to Celebrity.

Sorry Charlie, but they DO make them.
They just don't like you.
Understandable.....
