There's a link at the Celeb. website, too. Ditto on the comment about you
needing a cruise specialist TA.

You can join as soon as you board your first cruise, at the purser's desk,
and charge it to your cabin. It gets you an invitation to the Captain's
Club cocktail party, and priority when disembarking (except in Vancouver).

If your travel agent hasn't heard of the Captains Club, perhaps you
should consider hiring a travel agent that specializes in cruises next
time. That's a really easy question, and any TA who books cruises
should know that one.

In order to join the Captains Club you have to sailed on on Celebrity
Cruise already. There's a one time cost ($35, I believe). The perks
include priority boarding (my favorite), a cabin upgrade, and special
cocktail parties.

Once you've sailed on Celebrity, you may join at any time. We've only
gone on one Celebrity cruise (last December), but won't join Captains
Club until we book our second. I happen to really like Celebrity and
hope to sail them again soon.

I think you'll love Celebrity and the Galaxy. I'm very envious ...

The key is that, although you must pay a $35 one time per family charge,
you get an automatic 1 cat upgrade on ALL future sailings (you have to
give them the number). Or similarly, if you pick a category you want,
you pay 1 cat lower - which is what we do. It usually translates to a
few hundred dollars savings per cruise. [Not sure if upgrades to suites
are included though]. Since we've done 2 cruises after we joined, and
have another planned this summer, we've saved the $35 many times over.

Priority boarding ('specially if there's a LONG line like you get in
NYC) is also a very nice perk.

We tried to join, Mary, but the club members blackballed us. It
brought back those bitter memories of being blackballed by Sam's
Wholesale Club also

Although not mentioned in the text, the one category upgrade is NOT valid on
Bermuda cruises either.

It still hurts, Tom, even if it wasn't deliberate. At least we know,
now, that George Leppla or Peg didn't do it. <sniff>
