Just saw where the vote failed. For those that voted no, hope you enjoy all
the ads you'll keep seeing.

Freedom has always cost a pretty penny.

Perhaps this is a good time to stop the sarcasm regarding the vote and
concentrate on getting/relaying cruise specific (or general) news. For
example, has anyone heard how the smaller islands/ports fared through Luis
(e.g. St. Kitts, Nevis, St. Barts)?

Actually, the vote passed half of the voting criteria. That is 2/3 of
the valid votes were YES. Almost exactly 2/3 in fact. If you want to see
the official vote article, it can be found in news.announce.newgroups (among
other places.)

The voting was:

There were 139 YES votes and 69 NO votes, for a total of 208 valid votes.

Where the vote failed is that to pass a vote there have to be 100 more
YES votes than NO votes and hold the 2/3 majority.

In six months if we go through the vote again, I hope that all of you
who didn't vote do so. For now, the folks that wanted to get rid of ads
but didn't take the time to vote, IT IS ALL YOUR FAULT ;-)

I'm actually very surprised at the low vote count. After all the arguments
back and forth I expected a close vote but only 208 people cared at all?
