Has anyone (besides Chuck) had experience using cruisequick.com -- not just
getting a quote but booking and completing a cruise? The quote I got for my
November cruise was enough difference for me to seriously look into it. I
won't jump the gun until I get more facts. If you would rather e-mail me,
remove the (nospam) from address.

Thanks.

Hi Kman,

I just finished using CruiseQuick to book a repositioning cruise on the HAL
Zandam. I used there quote and priced it against other travel agents who
were unable to beat it. I used a major credit card for the purchase online
to protect myself. I am happy to report there were no added fees tacked
onto the quote. They were quick to provide the all important booking number
which allowed me to go online and fill out my embarkation form with HAL.
Can't say they always have the cheapest prices though. My opinion FWIW.

Thanks for your response. I'll be weighing the price difference and making a
decision soon. I just wanted to see if there were others with a positive
experience.

So far my experiences are good.

I have booked three cruises with them for the coming year - although I have
yet to travel on my first cruise ...11 days to go :o)

I am the kind of person who does my own research - including lots of tips I
have picked up in this newsgroup :o) - so I meet their requirements of
knowing exactly what class of cabin I want, on what cruise (cruisequick are
of no use if you don't know exactly what you want!).

I found their prices better than anything else I could find for those three
cruises (and I looked quite hard). I certainly didn't suffer any of the
nonsense, that some people here have referred to, with them quoting for
cabins which weren't available. Cruisequick quoted good prices for specific
cabins and were quick to confirm my bookings. The payments themselves were
processed by the cruise lines (with no credit card surcharge).

I also like cruisequick's e-mail contact - I normally get replies quicker
than I would by telephone (waiting to get through to someone who can help,
then waiting for them to ring you back) - and CruiseQuick are open long
hours. Even if they are not open, you can send them an e-mail that will be
dealt with as soon as they start work next morning.
It is also good to have everything in writing - no mis-remembered telephone
conversations.

The only minor problem I have had with email-only contact is when I have
e-mailed a particular person (who was dealing with my booking) at a time
when he was on a 3-day break. A follow up e-mail to their general sales
address soon got the matter dealt with.

My only other problem has been to get them to send the documents for my
up-coming cruise to my home address in the UK.
The documents arrived at their office with 17 days to go to sail date, but
they claimed that it was too risky to send them to the UK in such a "short"
time (I've heard of snail mail, but that sounds ridiculous!), so they asked
me for a US address to send them to.
They did, however, agree to send me a photocopy of the documents by e-mail,
so that I could check for errors.

As I say, all seems fine so far.

Next time you want to insist on the Documents and advise them to send them via
FedEx of DHL. We do it all the time for Clients in France and have never had a
problem. Even with short lead times.
