Im going on a cruise in September, going to Cozumel, Grand Caymen, going on
the Imagination. I would like to know, what are the best places to go to, as
far as fun is concerned. I haven't a clue. If someone would tell me, it
would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to hearing from you soon, and
please contact me via email at: itsm...@mindspring.com.

If you are going to Cozumel, and don't dive, be prepared to either drink or
shop....

We just returned from our first cruise (Carnival Destiny to Cozumel, Grand
Cayman, and Ocho Rios). Seems like the big thing to do there is frolic with
the stingrays. Apparently, these stingrays got used to hanging out with the
local fisherman and getting fed and they've come to love humans. So you can
take an excursion to this sandbar, get in the water, and have them swim up
and nuzzle you and suck on your legs.

We thought our 3 year old son might be too wigged out by that, so we opted
for an excursion to a local beach club called the Colony located on 7 Mile
Beach. The beach was gorgeous, but the club itself was sort of seedy
compared to its neighboring clubs and the lunch they served was terrible and
expensive (whoever heard of a beach club that didn't serve seafood!).

As for Cozumel, it was our first excursion and we wanted to keep it simple
so we chose a snorkeling excursion and were sorely disappointed. We were
told that we'd see amazing coral and fish -- yeah right. We saw a few lumps
of coral and a lot of seaweed. There were about 20 fish and there was
photographer that would drop bread in the water to make them swim to you and
then take your picture.

Carnival posts descriptions of all their excursions online if you want more
information. Some people prefer to venture out on their own, but unless I
know where I'm going, I'd rather stick with a guide.

We went a couple of years ago and the best thing we did at Grand Cayman was the
swimming with the sting rays. What an experience.

That is a shame since Cozumel has some of the best snorkeling in the world.
You could have gone to Chankanaab Park on your own, and you would have seen
lots of fish.

Tulum excursions are nice, what a great beach at the base of El Castillo,
but don't miss Stingray City.
