I am considering sometime next year taking a cruise on the
New England/Canada route, which as I am to understand runs for 10
days from Boston up to various ports in Canada then back to Boston,
Has anyone here done this cruise? If so what was your impression of
it and what is the best (and cheapest) cruise line to take?

Thanks, Rick.

Hi Rick!
We took the RCI Splendour of the Seas last Sept. Boston to Boston. It
was the least expensive fall foliage cruise offered. It was fantastic!
We are from the southern California area, so this was a real change of
scenery.
We flew in 3-days early to see a little of Boston. We really needed
more time there. We had booked a tour w/Grayline to see the fall
foliage in the countryside. We were too early for much color (9/23) but
the villages and scenery were so pretty!
The ports-of-call were great. Our favorites were Quebec City (you must
do the city AND the countryside tours) and tiny St. John, NB. We saw
the sea caves there. That is on the Bay of Fundy that has such amazing
tides.
The ship and the service were great! I would do it again in a
heartbeat!

Going on the Victory May 28th out of Boston on a Canada Cruise. Does
anyone know what the average temperature has been at this time of year?
Thanks...

Temperature of the ocean greatly effects the air temperature along
coastlines. Water temps. along the New England coast and into the maritimes
will range from the low 40's to the mid 50's in degrees F. These temps.
will dictate the air temp. at sea. Temps. on land depend on local wind
conditions, onshore offshore winds etc. You could see temps. in the high
70's, in the maritimes, on land, drop into the 50's when a seabreeze
develops. Generally it will be weather that dressing in layers is the
proper thing to do.

We took the CROWN PRINCESS Canada/New England cruise last
September....from Montreal to New York City. It was a wonderful cruise
and we enjoyed all the ports. Our favorites were Quebec City and
Halifax. There may be less expensive cruises, but this one was well
worth the price!

If you want to go budget, you might consider the current Norwegian Sea
cruises being offered on Travelocity. They have some going for $479
for 7 nights. I booked Sept. 9 and for $200 more got an outside deluxe
stateroom. They also have good specials on their site.
